LV Home Care Collaborative Gets Beyond Zoom

Jul 06, 2023 01:55PM ● By Tom Holderith

Finally, after years of Zoom meetings, the Lehigh Valley Home Care Collaborative (LVHCC) met on June 22nd at the Copperhead Grille in Bethlehem. The group had been meeting remotely until last month when they could finally gather in person, a welcomed change. They engaged in productive discussions ranging from regional price comparisons, to government legislation, to addressing caregiver employment issues. The group’s director, Terry Weber from Millbrook Home Care spoke on their accomplishments, now and in the future. Co-founder, Jeff Tintle from Thrive Media, presented the results of his Home Care Survey and Benchmark, touching on many issues affecting the industry.

The LVHCC began meeting monthly in 2019 stemming from common challenges to the non-medical home care industry. As Covid hit the following spring, their existence and purpose became more crucial as challenges such as adequate PPE and staffing shortages, became ubiquitous. Terry Weber, owner of Millbrook Homecare, has been involved in the home care industry for over a decade in various capacities. Jeff Tintle began Lifestyles Over 50 in 2005 to encourage healthy and vibrant living in the Lehigh Valley. There you’ll find a directory of all non-medical home care agencies from both Lehigh and Northampton counties. In addition, it’s the only area resource designed to empower families and senior service professionals “to collaborate as a care community…” discussing all aspects of life over 50.
